Hardy amaryllis behöver en vinterskyddande mulch eller det kan odlas som en kruka växt. Blommorna är gula, rosa eller röda. Lampan producerar band som löv som är borta när blommorna dyker upp. Växten gillar ett soligt läge och en väl dränerad mark.
